Open Communion
We celebrate Communion on the first Sunday of every month. The United Methodist Church offers an open table, welcoming all who wish to receive God’s love and grace through Jesus Christ. You don’t need to be a member of our church or denomination, and children are welcome to participate as well. Everyone is invited to the Lord’s Table.
Coffee Fellowship
You’re warmly invited to join us for Coffee Fellowship on the first Sunday of each month, following worship. May Christ’s love unite us as we share in this time together!
Children's Story Time during Sunday Service
We warmly welcome parents and their little ones to worship with us! It’s perfectly okay if your baby cries or makes noise during the service. We also have a special Children's Story Time during the service for the little ones.
Sunday School
After Story Time, children will be guided by their teachers to the Sunday School room, where they will remain until the end of the adult worship service. Through Bible lessons, crafts, songs, and movement activities, the children will learn about God’s Word and experience the love of Jesus in a fun and engaging way. What We Believe
As disciples of Christ, South Milwaukee UMC is deeply rooted in the Scriptures and the faith tradition of John Wesley. We believe that as we pray, grow in faith, and seek to understand how God’s Word applies to our lives and our community today, the Holy Spirit will guide us in living out His message of love.

Christ-Centered
We believe in the amazing love of God revealed through Christ, who died for our sins to bring us forgiveness, reconciliation, and eternal life. “Amazing love! How can it be that thou, my God, should die for me?”– from Charles Wesley’s hymn "And Can It Be That I Should Gain" (UMH #363, v.1)

Biblically Oriented
The Bible is our primary source for theological understanding. As stated in the Articles of Religion of the Methodist Church, the Holy Scripture contains “all things necessary to salvation” (Book of Discipline ¶104.3)

Community-based
We believe the Christian faith should be lived not only individually but also in community with others. John Wesley famously said, “there’s no holiness but social holiness,” emphasizing that faith grows through relationships with others.

Discipleship-Making
We are called to live in fellowship with Christ, becoming like Him and living as He lived. On this journey, we encourage one another, grow together, and engage in mission together. “No condemnation now I dread; Jesus, and all in him, is mine; my living alive in Him – from Charles Wesley’s hymn "And Can It Be That I Should Gain" (UMH #363, v.5)

Hospitality for All
We find the ultimate example of hospitality in Christ, who “left his Father’s throne above, so free, so infinite his grace, emptied himself of all but love and bled for Adam’s helpless race.”– from Charles Wesley’s hymn "And Can It Be That I Should Gain" (UMH #363, v3)
Just as our Lord came to meet us, we meet people where they are on their faith journey, welcoming everyone with open hearts.
